Sunset Strip Music Festival Recap ~
What a day! The Sunset Strip was closed off with a stage at both ends of a 3 block stretch, and every club had bands all day/night long. 17,000 people made it out to enjoy the day of music! It was an honor to share the bill with bands like Motley Crue, BUSH, Matt & Kim, Queen Caveat, Public Enemy, and so many more. The Roxy was our homebase, and they took great care of us. Once the set started, we noticed one of our biggest supporters through the years, Roxy Booker Megan Jacobs in the crowd moving with our music ~ her energy was beaming! Thank you to the Sunset Strip Music Festival, The Roxy, and everyone who came out to share this memory with us, that stage felt great!

Acoustic Performance @ Hotel Cafe, Friday July 29th, 11PM
Hearing songs in the acoustic format allows the rawness of the song, and the melodic core of the song to shine through. This is what we’re most excited about, these songs being heard in a different light. The Hotel Cafe has become a highly prestigious venue, known for launching singer/songwriters ~ so we thought, what a perfect place for us to perform the ‘Evolution’ songs (and a few new songs) acoustically.

You’ve patiently counted down the days til the BIG announcement, and we’re thrilled to officially reveal this year’s Sunset Strip Music Festival lineup!
Drum roll, please…
2011 SSMF honorees MÖTLEY CRÜE will return to their roots and perform live ON The Sunset Strip Saturday, Aug. 20, closing the outdoor street festival stages!
The outdoor stages will also feature exciting performances from a range of amazing artists throughout the day, including BUSH, PUBLIC ENEMY, MATT & KIM, ESCAPE THE FATE, THE DIRTY HEADS, COBRA STARSHIP, SHE WANTS REVENGE, BLACK VEIL BRIDES andTRIBAL SEEDS. The all-day street festival will also feature performances by more than 50 bands in the venues, including KILL THE COMPLEX, VOXHAUL BROADCAST, LETLIVE, DELUKA, PIGEON JOHN, THE LOST PATROL and DIVINITY ROXX.
After the outdoor stages close at 10 p.m., the party continues with unique “after parties” in venues, including DJs FELIX CARTAL, HARVARD BASS, DEATHFACE and BONES performing at the Key Club, and SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS returning to The Roxy Theatre to present their signature rock-meets-art party EMPIRE, featuring special guests.

I’ve never said I heart anything in my entire life. But, this calls for it. We made the Top 5 in Sunday’s Locals Only radio show on KROQ.
Which was amazing.
I had that feeling where your heart drops into your stomach, your day gets a million times better, and you start talking to strangers in the supermarket for no reason. Yup, it was one of those days..and it didn’t stop there. Today we received an email from KROQ saying they’ve been getting a “ton” (yes, they actually used the word “ton”) of positive feedback from their listeners about our song, and they want to interview us and feature us on KROQ.com. Ummm…ok..
Twilight Zone anybody? AWESOME.
Keeping composure here. LA is a town where you rub elbows with success constantly, but actually feeling successful or accomplished isn’t so abundant. We’ve been at this a long time, so we know to stay the course, and not get too excited – but it’s hard…after all, it IS the “World Famous” KROQ..lol

KROQ played our song “Shine” on Sunday, a good feeling. Hoping to make this step a building block. Been building blocks for years..seem to have created a cool fort in the living room – but maybe this one will get us out of the house.
Acoustic album is pretty rich, songs really show themselves this way. my voice is spotlighted in a way, kinda nerve racking but it’s all good. putting all my eggs in the music basket is a scary picnic, but not sure I could dine any other way. hoping it takes off ~dann
